Before you leave check the site or I think the # is 800-427-road or sumthing like that. It's the Cal-trans #, you say the Highway and it gives you any restrictions.

I just called the office and spoke to a official Cal Trans human being.

The road is closed to extra legal weight permit loads only.

It is for people who require permits to tow there boats and stuff. Wide Loads, Long Loads, Over Weight Loads, Tall Loads (sounds like a ugly chick). If your dont have a permit, you need not worry!!! In fact im pretty sure none of us need to worry since it is for Weight Permit Loads only.

Hey now, I've been working out and eating healthier and have lost some weight, but I don't have to use the 40 in my less than 3 hour trek to Havi.
